Bob and Susan Vautin Club Auction Saturday April 10th

We are gearing up for the Club Auction which will be held on Saturday April 10th. The Trustees decided that the proceeds from this year's auction should be divided equally between the Compass Project and the Friends of Casco Bay (Casco Baykeeper). We have just completed a mailing to more than 100 marine related businesses soliciting goods and/or services which we will be able to auction this year. Bob and Beth Doran CYC Youth Sailing Program - 2010

Centerboard Yacht Club will be conducting a Youth Sailing Program this season focused on teaching basic skills to beginning and intermediate sailors. Kids 7 to 15 yrs. old will learn safety and fun on the water, single-handling an Opti Trainer on all points of sail, righting a capsized boat, an introduction to racing, and much much more! We are looking for Stewards for 2010. A USCG Launch Operators license is required and must be in hand prior to the beginning of the season. Arnie Hoffman/Marjory Gold Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water!

I was working on Soroki at the end of the dock this afternoon and was adjusting the fenders when I saw something in the water between the hull and the dock. At first I thought it was a dark colored baseball cap, half under water. I knealt down to get a better look and couldn't believe my eyes. It was a turtle, a good sized one at that, at least a foot from nose to tail.
