Hope Hero Campaign Inspires Community Through Kindness and Resilience

As 2025 came to a close, Centerboard launched Hope Hero, a creative year-end campaign designed to remind our community that hope can be found in everyday acts of kindness.

Inspired by the optimism and nostalgia of classic 1980s superheroes, Hope Hero followed a caped crusader as he traveled throughout Centerboard, encouraging staff, supporting youth and families, and demonstrating that making a difference doesn't require superpowers—just compassion.

The campaign was developed by Centerboard's marketing team as a response to a year marked by uncertainty and challenges. Rather than focusing solely on hardship, the goal was to celebrate the resilience, joy, and hope that exists within our programs and the people we serve every day.

"At a time when so many changes and transitions are happening in the world, we wanted to create something positive, engaging, and uplifting for our community," said Marketing Director Jessie Nocella. "Working in human services often means supporting people through incredibly difficult moments. Through Hope Hero, we learned that highlighting hope and resilience not only uplifts those we serve but also strengthens how our message connects with the broader community."

Bringing Hope Hero to life was T.R.U.E. Mentorship Program mentor Richie Warren, whose energy, positivity, and genuine care made him the perfect person to step into the cape. Throughout the campaign, Warren's character delivered encouragement, celebrated everyday victories, and reminded viewers that everyone has the ability to make a meaningful impact.

"When I was asked to be Hope Hero and knew it was for a good cause, I was immediately excited," Warren shared. "Growing up, I always wanted to be on TV, and this gave me the chance to do something fun while helping others. Hearing people call me Hope Hero and knowing it made them smile has been incredibly rewarding."

The multi-part video series, produced by Centerboard's marketing team and shared across the organization's social media channels, featured Hope Hero supporting programs throughout the agency—from mentoring youth to helping families access essential resources. Each episode reinforced the message that hope grows through everyday moments of kindness, encouragement, and connection.

More than a seasonal campaign, Hope Hero became a celebration of the work Centerboard staff do every day. Whether helping a young person discover their potential, connecting a family to critical resources, or simply offering a listening ear, these acts of care create lasting change throughout the community.

The campaign concluded with a simple but powerful message: You don't need to wear a cape to be someone's hero. Every act of kindness has the power to inspire hope, strengthen communities, and change lives.

Centerboard extends its gratitude to everyone who helped bring Hope Hero to life, especially Richie Warren for embracing the role with enthusiasm and heart. Together, we reminded our community that hope isn't extraordinary—it's something we can all share, every single day.
