Our goal is to help.

Centerboard housing programs are referral based ONLY. This means families and youth are referred to us through the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities or through the Department of Child and Family Services.

For more information please contact the Division of Housing Stabilization at 617-573-1370, or call toll free at 978-418-3308.

    Massachusetts Emergency Housing Assistance

The Massachusetts Emergency Housing Assistance Program is a statewide initiative that provides resources to find shelter if you are in emergency need of housing. Services are available for individuals and for people with children (including pregnant people). There are also resources for households at risk of foreclosure or eviction, looking for support services, and individuals experiencing domestic violence.

    Massachusetts Public Housing Programs

Public housing includes large apartment complexes, single and multi-family homes, and more. The units are owned by Local Housing Authorities (LHAs), which manage public housing programs throughout Massachusetts. You can apply for your own apartment at any LHA through an online application. For or a shared living space (congregate housing), contact an LHA.

    Rental Assistance: Housing Vouchers

Both Massachusetts and the federal government can help you pay your rent through “voucher” programs. You can use some vouchers anywhere as long as the unit meets health and safety standards. Other vouchers are for a specific housing unit. There are also programs for emergency financial support if you are in danger of losing your housing.

Visit the Lynn Family Resource Center.

The Lynn Family Resource Center (LFRC) is a program of Centerboard that provides members of our community access to family support services. Any family member can walk into the FRC and receive assistance with any human services related issue. If services cannot be provided to a family member onsite at the FRC, staff will provide information and referral to a network of service providers affiliated with the program. The Lynn Family Resource Center's philosophy is to "do whatever it takes" to help the family better meet its needs.

Find Local Food Insecurity Assistance.

Across the state, community foundations are working closely with local officials, food banks, and partner organizations to mobilize rapid, flexible resources and strengthen our collective advocacy for a more resilient food system. This collaboration reflects the heart of what makes community foundations such vital partners — uniting people and resources to meet both immediate needs and long-term challenges.

Our team, with the help of many community advocates, has compiled a list of local and regional food resources available to assist families during this difficult time.

Please, share this information widely — with friends, neighbors, and anyone who may need support.
