Wine with a Cause

Your Next Glass Can Make a Big Difference.

From passion to purpose- our Centerboard wine was created. For every bottle purchased, MRW will donate 50% of the proceeds to Centerboard’s programs that support families, children and housing throughout Essex County.

Two bottles of wine, a small bouquet of flowers, and informational flyers are arranged on a circular mirror on top of a wooden barrel in an indoor setting.

Meet Donna Martin

Donna Martin, Owner of Mill River Winery (MRW), and longtime board member of Centerboard, has a deeply rooted connection to the North Shore and is passionate about fundraising for youth and families that need a “boost”.

My work ethic and values were inspired by my dad, Donald “Don” Martin, who grew up in Lynn, MA during WWII. At the age of 12 years old, he quit school and worked to support his widowed mother and sister, while his older brothers joined the war effort.

My dad’s values were always centered around family, work and sacrifice. He worked two jobs so that his three daughters would be able to attend school and have a successful future that he only dreamed about. I am living proof that my dad’s hard work paid off. My only wish is that he didn’t have to work so hard.

The irony is that my father was super smart with a talent and passion for science. If Centerboard was around when Don was young, he would have been able to build a better future with family programs such as the T.R.U.E. mentoring program and receive support from educational and vocational planning youth programs.

I am a passionate supporter of Centerboard because it gives opportunities to folks like my dad that have tons of potential but need a boost to make a positive difference in the lives of their loved ones.

A rich Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zinfandel, with notes of cherry, raspberry, warm baking spices, and a savory finish of leather, tobacco, and vanilla.

50% of the proceeds from each bottle sold directly supports our work with youth and families
