Centerboard Named 2026 Non-Profit of the Year by the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce

Centerboard is honored to announce that it has been named the 2026 Non-Profit of the Year by the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce, receiving the prestigious INCredible Award in recognition of the organization's lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities across the North Shore.

The award celebrates organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and service while making meaningful contributions to the communities they serve. For Centerboard, the recognition reflects decades of commitment to helping people overcome barriers and build brighter futures through housing, youth development, behavioral health, family support, and community-based services.

"We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce," said Mark DeJoie, Chief Executive Officer of Centerboard. "This award belongs to every member of our team, our dedicated partners, our volunteers, our donors, and most importantly, the individuals and families who trust us during some of the most important moments of their lives. Their resilience and determination inspire the work we do every day."

In addition to receiving the INCredible Award, Centerboard was presented with official citations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Massachusetts State Senate, recognizing the organization's continued dedication to strengthening communities and expanding opportunities for residents throughout the region.

Over the past year, Centerboard has continued to grow its impact by expanding housing solutions for families experiencing homelessness, increasing access to food and essential resources through the Lynn Family Resource Center, strengthening mentorship opportunities for young men through the T.R.U.E. Mentorship Program, supporting youth affected by commercial sexual exploitation through We Rise, and developing innovative partnerships that improve the well-being of communities across the North Shore.

"This recognition is a reflection of what can be accomplished when communities come together," DeJoie said. "Every partnership, every volunteer hour, every donation, and every act of kindness helps us create opportunities for hope, healing, and stability. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our mission."

Centerboard extends its sincere appreciation to the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce for this meaningful honor and for its continued commitment to recognizing organizations that strengthen the region through service and collaboration.

The organization also expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Massachusetts State Senate for their official recognition of Centerboard's mission and impact.

While the award celebrates past accomplishments, Centerboard views it as motivation for the future.

"This recognition inspires us to continue showing up for our community with compassion, innovation, and purpose," DeJoie added. "As the needs of our communities continue to evolve, so will our commitment to providing the support, resources, and opportunities that help individuals and families build stronger futures."

Centerboard remains dedicated to working alongside community members, local leaders, nonprofit partners, and businesses to create lasting change throughout the North Shore.
